The aim of Scouting is to encourage the physical, intellectual, and social development of young people so they may play a constructive role in society as responsible citizens and as members of their local and international communities.

This aim is achieved through a strong and active program that inspires young people to do their best and to always be prepared.

The 1st Helensburgh Scout Group is located at the Northern-most point of Wollongong (otherwise known as the Northern Illawarra), one hour south of Sydney, as part of the South Coast and Tablelands region, and in 2011 enjoys its centenary, and still going strong.

Our Group is always looking for new members and leaders. Activities include camping, hikes, canoeing, indoor rock climbing, cooking, construction and life skills as well as other fun outings. This website has been created as a useful resource to both parents and children of the group - we welcome your input to make it functional and fun!

Hi Scouts & Cubs ready for Scouts Next Year,

As most of you are aware the next Scout Jamboree is on again in January 2013. We need to start looking at who is eligible and who is interested in going.

We will be having an information night at our place (95 Walker St) tomorrow night 6:30pm – 7:30pm. We need to know numbers for us to start organising our troop and also to start thinking of ways to fundraise.
